Those of you who are on a low income, we are able to provide you legal assistance through legal help for your housing needs such as an eviction order, possession proceedings, and counterclaim for disrepair, homelessness, anti-social behaviour/harassment and serious disrepair.

We are a dedicated team of professionals to help you and your family providing you with the highest standard of service to meet all your housing needs through legal aid, a government scheme which provides financial assistance to those who are on low income and cannot meet their legal cost. We are able to advise you under legal aid schemes if you qualify. A financial assessment will be undertaken to assess if you have met the eligibility criteria

You will be eligible for legal aid scheme:

  • If you are in receipt of certain benefits (Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance, Employment Support Allowance or any other low income.
  • You will need to provide us with your National Insurance Number, proof of your receipt of benefits, photo I.D. and 3 months bank statements.

You are only eligible for the Legal aid on one of the following grounds:

1. Possession claims

This means if receive notice of seeking possession or defending possession proceedings from both public and private landlords.

2. Homelessness

We can assist you with your homeless applications. Including requesting reviews of rejection or requesting reviews of suitable accommodation by local authorities.

3. Unlawful eviction
If you receive eviction notice or order.
4. Homeless

If you are homeless, and you need assistance with application for re-housing.

5. Behaviour

If you are experiencing anti-social behaviour or harassment within the home.

Legal Aid
  • Silverstone Solicitors are housing Legal Aid providers and may be able to advise you under the Legal Aid scheme if you qualify for Legal Aid. If you qualify for Legal Aid you do not have to pay your legal costs and we will claim our legal costs from the Legal Aid Agency.
